This page explains what data we collect when you visit bri-eg.com or use our shop, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to keep this short and plain β if anything is unclear, please email us at privacy@bri-eg.com.
1. Who we are
Albassem Refrigeration Industries S.A.E., headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, operates the website bri-eg.com (the "Site"). For the purposes of this notice, Albassem is the data controller for any personal data collected through the Site.
2. What we collect
We collect two kinds of data through the Site:
Always (essential)
- Your IP address, country (derived from the IP), browser, operating system and device type β used to detect fraud, set the right language, and audit access.
- A first-party cookie called
shop_vid(a random UUID, valid for 1 year) so we can recognise the same browser across visits β for example, to keep your shopping cart between sessions. - If you place an order or sign up: the name, email address, phone number, and delivery address you provide. We need this to fulfil and ship the order.
Only if you accept the cookie banner (analytics)
- A log of pages and products you view, searches you run, and items you add to or remove from your cart. We call these "visitor events".
- We use this to power the "Recently viewed" and "Trending now" strips on the shop, the "people who viewed X also viewed Y" suggestions, and the abandoned-cart reminder email if you leave items in your cart.
If you click Decline on the cookie banner, none of these visitor events are stored β only the essential data above is kept.
3. How long we keep it
- Visitor events are kept for 45 days on a rolling window, then automatically deleted.
- Order and account data is kept as long as the account is active and as required by Egyptian commercial law (currently 5 years).
- The
shop_vidcookie expires automatically after 1 year if you don't visit again. You can delete it any time through your browser's privacy settings.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share order details with the shipping provider you choose at checkout (Bosta, Aramex, etc.) so they can deliver your order, and we share payment-confirmation messages over WhatsApp / Instapay only when you initiate a payment. Your data stays inside our infrastructure otherwise.
5. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you what data we hold about you;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete your data and close your account;
- export your order history in a portable format.
Email privacy@bri-eg.com with the request and we will reply within 14 days.
6. Cookies in detail
The Site uses these cookies:

You can change your decision at any time by clearing the shop_consent_v1 entry from your browser's site data β the banner will reappear on your next visit.
7. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS. We use industry-standard infrastructure (PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery) and apply principle-of-least-privilege access controls inside Albassem. We will notify affected users without undue delay if we detect a breach involving personal data.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change anything important, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and β for material changes β show the cookie banner again to ask for fresh consent.
