Air-cooled coils that cool the liquid refrigerant below the condensing temperature for more capacity.
About this design
A subcooler takes the high-pressure liquid from the receiver and cools it further with ambient air blown by an axial fan, below the condensing temperature. Colder liquid gives more cooling capacity from the same compressor, raises the COP of the system or lets a smaller compressor do the job.
It can be a separate coil or be built into an existing condenser. Each subcooler is designed for the working conditions of the system.
